Selangor orders internal audit on reps’ spending of allocations
SHAH ALAM: The Selangor government has directed an internal audit on the spending of state allocations by its assemblymen.
Mentri Besar Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim said the audit would, among others, ensure that the spending complied with procedures.
“This is our way to assure the public that the accounting of the state’s coffers is continuously monitored,” he said in a statement here yesterday.
Khalid said the auditing would begin as soon as possible in the Petaling District and a report would be presented to the state government within a month.
“After this, it will be made available to the public,” he said.
